Waterwise Garden Designer
Water Corporation and Landscape Industries Association of WA (LIAWA) actively work together in the promotion of efficient water use and for over 15 years have worked collaboratively in delivering the Waterwise Garden Designer Program.
This program forms a critical approach in educating not only those who deliver landscape services but also the general public of WA.
Criteria for Program Membership
- This program is open to LIAWA members and non members
- Any landscape business involved in design, construction or maintenance
- All employees (owners, full time/part time staff & apprentices) are encouraged to join the program by undergoing the training and passing the assessment
- To gain endorsement participants must complete the online training program and all the units associated with it, as well as attending one of the face to face training workshops run by LIAWA throughout the year.
The topics covered in the training manual are:
- Site Analysis & Planning
- Waterwise Plant Selection
- Waterwise Irrigation
- Alternative Water Sources
- Waterwise Turf
- Waterwise Mulches
- Soils & Soil Improvement
- Waterwise Pools & Water Features
- Water Sensitive Urban Design
- Waterwise Checkist for Existing Gardens
When landscapers meet the above criteria, the company they represent will be promoted by Water Corporation and LIAWA as WWLP member. The company details will be listed on the LIAWA and Water Corporation websites.
Once endorsed you are encouraged to use the Waterwise logo on your stationery and marketing material.
Complete this course or both the Waterwise Garden Design and Waterwise Landscape courses for the same price. The endorsement is valid for two years.
