Code of Ethics: Business Practices and Clients Members of the Landscape Industries Association of WA (LIAWA) agrees:
- Maintain professionalism in all business dealings to enhance the respect for the industry at a national, state and local level
- Encourage the employment of apprentices and provide proper tuition and training schemes
- Maintain a professional relationship
- Encourage new business through reputation for honest and fair dealing
- Encourage research and development of new materials and methods used in the industry
- Fulfil all contractual obligations as entered into by you and your company
- Maintain full comprehensive insurances to protect the general public and staff
Code of Ethics - General members of LIAWA agrees to:
- Strive to achieve better creativity, productivity, & efficiency;
- Make a courtesy call to acknowledge a fellow member for any works to be commissioned that may be relevant to issues of intellectual property;
- Embrace the membership of liawa as a networking opportunity;
- Work with fellow members in forming a network of business alliance;
- Share information with fellow members on any changes in the landscaping industry;
- Engage in continuous improvement via professional development;
- Contribute positively to the brand of the association;
- Accept that they are bound by the rules & provisions of the constitution of LIAWA
- Bring to the attention of management council of any breaches of behaviour codes, that is detrimental to professionalism of the landscaping industry or the LIAWA brand;
- Refrain from making adverse comments on the quality of workmanship or character of a fellow member (verbally or via social media); and
- Ensure that the management of grievances against a fellow LIAWA member, LIAWA management council, or the association be conducted in a professional manner & without affecting the good repute of LIAWA.
